The Orange was written as a children's story, and children should find it fun, charming, and cheerful. Without spoiling this simple story, it can be said that it shows how even an orange that puts his trust in God may not be disappointed but may be rewarded with the best destiny. This is a message for all ages, particularly in times when a person might find reasons to be discouraged. This might be the simplest and yet the most hopeful story, or sermon, that the reader, whether a child or an adult, has heard in a while. Both the author, the publisher, and others who made this book possible will attest that, while the story is imaginative and by all means meant to entertain, the backstory behind it has been proven over and over, in our lives and in countless others' lives. So enjoy the reading, and in your enjoyment also be blessed as you trust your Creator more and more.

The true story of a man living on Mt. Saint Helens in Washington state when it erupted on May 18, 1980, inspired this book, The Volcano. Here you are asked to imagine another man who also sought time away on the mountain. His fate was different because he was praying and heeded a small but insistent voice telling him to get off the mountain at once. This rescue was sudden but dramatic and a squeaker! A Cricket Came to Church

One Sunday morning, where I attended church, a cricket got inside the church building. It was very quiet until we began singing, then it decided to chirp as we sang. However, when we stopped singing, the cricket decided to keep chirping. We all got very tickled at that little cricket trying to chirp while the pastor was trying to preach. The louder he spoke, the noisier that cricket seemed to get. One of the members finally picked it up and put it outside. Even though it was outside, it still chirped loud enough for us to hear it. That's how this story came about. I hope you enjoy this story. After I wrote the first part, I realized that there are those of us who know God has called us to do a work, but His timing for that particular work may not be just yet. The moral of this story is to encourage you to earnestly pray before you do anything and seek guidance from the pastor or other leaders in the church. Tell them your desire and ask if they would help you pray or for advice on beginning the work. Discuss with them what you believe the Lord has called you to do, and then continue to pray until you know God's will. It may be that what you want to do requires some experience or training before you can do your best for the Lord. Sometimes we think we are ready to do something, but when others suggest we wait a bit, we can get discouraged. I encourage you to seriously seek the Lord and keep serving Him until you know in your heart what to do. I hope this book is not only entertaining but helps someone along their faith walk. Blessings, Ruby Weeks
